SDG 1- What practical solutions Israel offers to the problem of local poverty?

The State of Israel and the different sectors of Israeli society offer several practical solutions to the problem of poverty. These include:

1. The Government: The Israeli government plays a key role in addressing poverty through a range of policies and programs. These include the National Insurance Institute (NII): The NII provides financial assistance to low-income families, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups. The NII also offers employment services, such as job placement and vocational training, to help individuals improve their job prospects and increase their income.
   
   The Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services offers a range of programs and services aimed at reducing poverty, including welfare benefits, housing assistance, and support for children and families.
   
   The Government also provide tax breaks and other incentives for businesses that provide jobs and support to low-income individuals, as well as investments in education and training programs to help individuals improve their job prospects.
   
   
2. The Israeli Non-Profit Sector: Several non-profit organizations in Israel work to address poverty and provide support to those in need. These organizations provide a range of services, such as food aid, education and training programs, and legal assistance.
   
   
3. The Private Sector: The private sector in Israel plays a significant role in addressing poverty through corporate social responsibility initiatives, innovative social impact models and philanthropy. Many businesses partner with non-profit organizations and community groups to provide services and support to low-income individuals and families.
